First ELoGE Workshop in Portugal

The Centre of Expertise for Good Governance is supporting the implementation of ELoGE - the European Label of Governance Excellence – in Portugal, in cooperation with UDITE – the European Federation of Local Government Chief Executives, and ATAM – the Portuguese Association of employees of local administrations.

On 6 October, a special hybrid - partially online - workshop will be organised to discuss and agree on the details of the evaluation process, indicators, and scoring. The Mayor of Loulé, President of ATAM, President of UDITE, and the Head of the Centre of Expertise will open the workshop.

Afterwards, the participating municipalities will proceed with self-evaluations against the ELoGE benchmark, and the organisation of surveys for citizens and local authorities. Municipalities that comply with the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance will be awarded the Label.

The ELoGE process enables all local authorities to raise awareness of good governance, identify main areas for improvement and learn from each other.
