On 28 March 2022, the European Committee on Democracy and Governance (CDDG) adopted by written procedure a public statement in which it condemns the aggression and recalls the continued actions Ukraine had taken collectively with Member States through programmes to develop and strengthen democracy and good governance for the benefit of Ukraine’s people.
The current actions of the Russian government are the very antithesis of this, demonstrating blatant disregard of human rights, democratic standards and norms of good governance, and bringing misery, death, and destruction to so many”, says the statement.
