In 2016, the Centre and ISIG planned to support the BLUEWIN Project which was approved for funding by the EU. The project establishes co-operation between the municipalities of Zadar, Dubrovnik (Croatia), Highland Council (UK), Gorizia (Italy), Nova Gorica (Slovenia), and Kotor (Montenegro) in the area of water ecosystems.

A regional workshop on Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) was organised in Dubrovnik, in order to discuss and launch co-operation between the city of Dubrovnik and neighbouring municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Back Workshop on Cross Border Cooperation

The Centre of Expertise, in cooperation with the municipality of Dubrovnik, organised a special workshop on Cross Border Cooperation, based on the CoE Toolkit.

Representatives from the municipalities of Dubrovnik (Croatia), Trebinje, Ravno (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Herceg Novi and Kotor (Montenegro) discussed and identified possible areas for cooperation.

The Council of Europe Secretariat and experts presented the CBC toolkit and shared experience and best practice of cross-border cooperation between municipalities in other countries.
