Resilience Building Strategies: Training for Cyprus

Strengthening resilience at local level is a key element in order to ensure sustainability and long-term orientation, in line with one of the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance.

For this reason, and as a part of implementation of the National Training Strategy in Cyprus, the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance, in cooperation with the Cyprus Academy of Public Administration and associations of local authorities, organised a training of trainers on the Resilience Building Strategies (ReBuS).

The workshop provided an opportunity to introduce the Council of Europe ReBuS toolkit to the participants, in order for them to get familiar with the methodology, and later to be able to offer this training to the local authorities. The toolkit is a practical step-by steps guide allowing to assess vulnerabilities, emergency preparedness, and incorporate crisis management and resilience building into strategic planning at local level.

A second workshop is foreseen to take place in September 2021.
