The Head of the Centre of Expertise, Ms Tatarenko met Greek local authorities and major stakeholders on local governance at the Annual Conference of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) which took place in Ioannina from 30 November to 2 December.

Ms Tatarenko presented the achievements and future actions of the EU-CoE Technical Assistance Project on Institutional Enhancement of Local Governance implemented in Greece. During the last year the Centre of Expertise has supported the reform of the legal framework through policy advice assistance and involved more than 70% of Greek municipalities from all regions in capacity building activities.

The Centre would like to thank Mr Patoulis, President of KEDE and the other participants for the fruitful discussions and reflections on steps needed to further good governance at local level in Greece.
