Launch of ELoGE in Slovakia

The Centre of Expertise for Good Governance, in cooperation with the Slovak Government and the NGO Dobry Uradnik (Good Civil Servant), is launching the implementation of the European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) in the framework of the CoE – EU joint project “Delivering Good Governance in Slovakia”. ELoGE is awarded to municipalities which demonstrate compliance with the 12 European Principles of Good Democratic Governance and have achieved a high level of governance measured against the respective benchmark. It is also an improvement tool which helps local authorities identify their strengths and weaknesses, compare their performance, and provide better governance as a result.

A workshop for experts will be the kick-off event to assist national experts in developing competences and skills for providing capacity building support to the local authorities which will participate in ELoGE. It will also serve as a starting point for adapting the EloGE benchmark to the Slovak context. The workshop will be organised online on 19-20 May and 1 June 2020.
