Supporting member states in their process of ratification of the Istanbul Convention

A new publication entitled “Advancing towards the ratification and implementation of the Istanbul Convention: good practices from states parties” has just been published. This study has been prepared under the framework of the project “Awareness-raising activities on the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova”.

The study was developed to support the Moldovan authorities in their path to ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence – the Istanbul Convention.

The study is divided in two main parts. The first one provides examples of steps taken by member states when preparing for ratification of the Istanbul Convention. The second part showcases states parties’ good practices in implementing requirements of the convention.

Although developed for the Republic of Moldova, this tool can also be useful to other member states seeking to ratify the Istanbul Convention, as well as states parties to the convention seeking to find new good practices for its implementation.

The publication is available in English and Romanian.
