In the margins of the 15th meeting of the Gender Equality Commission, an event was organised to present the capacity building and co-operation projects managed by the Council of Europe’s Gender Equality Division. These projects are about implementing the “Istanbul Convention” as well as other objectives of the Gender Equality Strategy.
A report on these co-operation projects was presented on Thursday 23 May 2019 in the Agora Building. This presentation was followed by the “Project Fair”. This was an opportunity to showcase the different projects, and to explain how they are designed and implemented. Representatives of donor and beneficiary countries who are based in Strasbourg and members of the Gender Equality Commission had an opportunity to meet and discuss with project staff from the Council of Europe field offices and the Headquarters in Strasbourg. A new brochure, which presents the Council of Europe approach to projects on combating violence against women and domestic violence has also been prepared for this event.
