Back Training for Journalists in Novi Sad

The Project “Promoting freedom of expression and information and freedom of the media in South-East Europe” organised the Training for Journalists “Freedom of Expression and Right to Privacy”, which was held on 10 October 2014 in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Training for Journalists in Novi Sad

The aim of the training was to discuss the freedom of expression and the right to privacy, the rights guaranteed by the Human Rights Convention, and European experiences in this domain.

The Council of Europe experts Mr Khagani Guliyev, lawyer in the European Court of Human Rights; Mr Petar Jeremić, Member of the Serbian Press Council, and Mr Frédéric Gras, media lawyer from France, gave presentations on freedom of expression, case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, the protection of privacy and personal data, legal access to official information, guidelines for professional reporting, importance of media self-regulation, the role of the Serbian Press Council, and examples from practice of the Serbian Complaints Commission.
