The Journalists’ National Trade Union and the Council of Europe together reinforce the capacities of Tunisian journalists to cover the local elections in the best possible conditions and in the respect of the applicable principles and of international standards.
Within the Tunisian context, characterized by a new judicial framework drawing the first decentralization policies in the country, a third training session on the media coverage of elections was hold in Tabarka from the 26th to the 28th of January. This training focused on the media role in the running of free and transparent elections, while guaranteeing the access to pluralist information and thus providing to the citizens the necessary means to understand the electoral challenges.
