IGF 2017: Internet intermediaries – shared commitments and corporate responsibility

On 18 December 2017 the Council of Europe is organising an event during the Internet Governance Forum in Geneva, titled Open Forum: Internet intermediaries – shared commitments and corporate responsibility. The open forum will focus on dialogue with internet intermediaries concerning protection of human rights of internet users. A variety of topics is to be discussed, including internet intermediaries’ policies concerning use of automated data processing techniques affecting users` privacy, and policies addressing hate speech, misinformation and political propaganda . Ambassador Corina Călugăru, Committee of Ministers Thematic Co-ordinator on Information Policy of the Council of Europe will open the event, followed by a discussion of panellists, moderated by Wolfgang Schulz from Hans-Bredow-Institut of the University of Hamburg.

The event will take place on 18 December 2017 (12:20 – 13:20), Room XXVII - E United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).
