Back Youngest and the world of media

Children are surrounded by the media from their birth – media and communication platforms and content are part of their environment; children are active users of the media.

Making children media literate means having future society of aware and responsible individuals. Within the joint EU and Council of Europe action on “Freedom of expression and freedom of the media in Serbia (JUFREX)” a translation into Serbian and publications on media literacy for preschool children have been produced: Picture book about the media; How can parents support their children in the world of media?; Workshop: Advertisements; Workshop: Optical toys.

The aim of these publications for the youngest is to educate and inform children, parents, teachers and educators on the media, media environment and highlight the importance of media literacy

The publications were prepared in co-operation with the Serbian Regulatory authority for electronic Media, based on the support of the Agency of Electronic Media, Croatia and UNICEF Office in Croatia.
