2nd Steering Committee Meeting of Moldova Project

The Council of Europe Project on “Promoting Media Freedom and Pluralism in Moldova” organised its second and last steering committee meeting in Chisinau on the 15th of June 2018.  Fifteen representatives of the state authorities, including the Chairperson of the Media Commission of the Parliament, the Chairperson of the Regulatory Authority and the Chairperson of Teleradio Moldova took part.

Mr Marco Gemmer, Deputy Head of the Operation Section at the European Union Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, together with Roberta Battista, Project Officer from Strasbourg addressed the audience at the opening session and emphasized the importance of the current project.

The members of the steering committee presented the results from their point of view and expressed their satisfaction for the work carried out so far. The work plan for the next 3 months was presented and adopted.

The Project brought to the attention of the steering committee that already 8 indicators of achievement have been successfully completed and that about 77% of the budget has been spent, some objectives were exceeded.

The European Union expressed its satisfaction and willingness to take on board the results achieved by the project in its future activities.

The meeting gave an opportunity to Project partners to share their impressions and views on the Project and for beneficiaries to restate their necessity for further assistance.
