On 30 May 2023, Patrick Penninckx, Head of the Information Society Department of the Council of Europe, addressed a group of Norwegians scholars on a study visit to Strasbourg. The alumni in Human Rights at University of South-East Norway were informed about how the Council of Europe works to protect freedom of expression, media freedom and the safety of journalists. They further learned how the Council of Europe helps governments safeguarding the security of digital solutions, how the Council of Europe works to tackle cybercrime and how it endeavours to frame the development of artificial intelligence from a human right prospective.
