The 4th meeting of the Committee of experts on human rights dimensions of automated data processing and different forms of artificial intelligence (MSI-AUT) takes place in Strasbourg on 23 and 24 September 2019.
The experts are finalising the draft recommendation on the human rights impacts of algorithmic systems while reviewing the numerous comments received during public consultation conducted over the summer. The text will be reviewed by the inter-governmental CDMSI in early December.
The MSI-AUT had earlier prepared two studies, the study of the implications of advanced digital technologies (including AI systems) for the concept of responsibility within a human rights framework, and the study on forms of liability and jurisdictional issues in the application of civil and administrative defamation laws in Council of Europe member states.
