Enhancing institutional capacities on freedom of expression and information in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 10 – 12 May 2023 a Council of Europe delegation undertook a working mission to Sarajevo to reinforce cooperation in the information society field. The delegation had meetings with partners for the projects “Enhancing institutional capacities on freedom of expression and information in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (EFEx) and “Freedom of expression and the media” (PROFREX BIH) including the Minister Sevlid Hurtić, Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, President Marko Divković and the Vice President, Velida Kulenović, of BH Novinari journalists association and Bojana Urumova and Vahagn Muradyan, Head and Deputy Head of Council of Europe Sarajevo Office.

Patrick Penninckx, head of the delegation, addressed the EFEx Steering Committee's second meeting on 12 of May informing participants about the latest Council of Europe policy developments in the areas of freedom of expression and media freedom.

EFEx is a project implemented by the Council of Europe and funded through the voluntary contribution of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
