The European Youth Foundation is visiting projects it is supporting and run by non-governmental youth organisations.

Through the visits the Foundation expects to increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe; give feedback to the Programming Committee on Youth (more about the Committee); establish contact with youth NGOs; get to know NGOs and the work they do.

Visited projects are organised by non-governmental youth organisations (NGOs) which are registered with the Foundation and received a grant. (More information on the application process).

The EYF visits an international activity on youth workers' facilitation skills in Hungary

The EYF visited the international activity “Peer the Change”, delivered by the grantee organisation EGYESEK in Hollókő, Hungary, on 22-23 November 2022.

This was EGYESEK’s first project supported by the EYF since 2014 and it focused on the capacity building of youth workers by developing their facilitation skills. This was in response to an observed shortage of skilled youth trainers. In partnership with organisations from the Czech Republic, Spain, Republic of Türkiye, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, and Greece, EGYESEK brought together participants from each of the partner countries for a week of non-formal learning and exchange.

During the visit, the EYF team member participated in the first full day of activities, in order to experience and understand the educational approach. Sessions included getting to know each other, communication through theatre, personal skills assessment, objective setting, and a facilitated reflection. The EYF also delivered a presentation about the Council of Europe and the grants available.

Throughout the remainder of the training, participants will build their facilitation skills step by step, as well as designing and practicing their own workshops. These workshops will then be delivered by the participants in their own communities in follow up to the training.
