The European Youth Foundation is visiting projects it is supporting and run by non-governmental youth organisations.

Through the visits the Foundation expects to increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe; give feedback to the Programming Committee on Youth (more about the Committee); establish contact with youth NGOs; get to know NGOs and the work they do.

Visited projects are organised by non-governmental youth organisations (NGOs) which are registered with the Foundation and received a grant. (More information on the application process).

Monitoring visit to a work plan project of ESN (Erasmus Student Network)

On 9-10 November the EYF visited the international activity of Erasmus Student Network (ESN), in Cervia, Italy. ESN is one of the largest student associations in Europe, working with international students and creating intercultural learning opportunities at a local, national and international level. In 2022, ESN delivered an annual work plan addressing the topic of youth and mental health, exploring youth work practices to support the mental wellbeing of young people who are studying, working and volunteering abroad.

The EYF visited the closing international activity of the work plan, “The International Dimension of Mental Health”. The activity provided capacity building for 20 representatives of national and local ESN organisations on the topic of mental health. Participants engaged in a five-day hybrid non-formal education activity, consisting of a three-day in-person training followed by a two-day online phase. The process will result in a set of recommendations and good practices on how to embed mental wellbeing practices in the activities of youth organisations working with volunteers and international students.
