The EYF visits the SCI international activity on cross-cultural project development

From 28 to 29 June 2022, the European Youth Foundation visited the project “FUNding peace: the power grid for your project” of the organisation Service Civil International SCI, organised at the youth centre De Hoge Rielen, in Belgium.

The project is an international activity gathering 21 participants from 11 countries to connect young people in an open and supportive platform empowering them to exchange ideas and boost their capacities to initiate quality projects that are in line with and contributing to SCI’ s vision, mission and values.

During a programme of five days, participants increase their knowledge, skills and motivation to initiate cross-cultural (peace) projects, to include in their projects transversal concerns, such as climate justice, antidiscrimination, inclusiveness and intersectionality and they will form an informal platform to engage more in the work of SCI. In parallel, participants also contribute to the development of an online course on youth project management.

The visit of the EYF was an opportunity to discuss the funding and other resources of the Council of Europe for youth organisations, to strengthen the co-operation between the EYF and youth multipliers and to inform participants about the updates of the EYF in terms of funding.

As the activity took place at one of the youth centres that has the Quality Label for Youth Centres of the Council of Europe, a presentation of the youth centre and of the Quality Label project was organised for the participants.
