Special call to support projects within the 2022 youth campaign for revitalising democracy

The  Youth campaign for revitalising democracy will run throughout the Council of Europe member states during the period from March to October 2022. It aims at strengthening young people’s role in the process of revitalising participatory democracy and restoring mutual trust between young people and democratic institutions and processes.

The campaign will focus on three key themes: revitalisation of democracy, meaningful youth participation and digitalisation.

In the framework of the campaign, local, national and international activities will take place allowing young people, youth workers, youth organisations and youth policy institutions to shape the themes, the content and the outcomes of the campaign in the spirit of participatory democracy.

A thematic calendar has been established to provide the timeline for the activities to take place within the campaign:

Financial support by the European Youth Foundation

The European Youth Foundation (EYF) wishes to support youth organisations that are looking for funding to organise activities in the context of the 2022 Youth Campaign. These youth organisations may submit:

  • Grant applications for pilot activities to be implemented by local and national youth organisations in the framework of the campaign.
  • Grant applications for international activities to be implemented in 2022 by international youth organisations or national youth organisations with partners in the framework of the campaign.

Please, be aware that:

  • Unless indicated in this special call, for applications to both grant categories the standard application conditions apply. For more information, see: what we support.
  • Priority shall be given to:
    • applications for activities to be implemented within the timeline for activities as set out by the thematic campaign calendar;
    • applications for activities of an awareness-raising or educational nature, such as awareness-raising campaigns, debates and meetings with yuth policy stakeholders (local, regional and national authorities’ officials and elected representatives), workshops and seminars for young people, etc.

Conditions

To be eligible to EYF funding, the application must concern activities that:

    • are organised in the framework of the 2022 youth campaign;
    • take place in a Cuncil of Europe member state;
    • have a clear link to one or more of the key themes of the campaign: revitalisatin of democracy, meaningful youth participation and digitalisation;
    • start between March and Octber 2022, with six months of execution time at most.

Further conditions

The COVID 19 pandemic is still with us. Activities may be implemented offline, online or in a hybrid format and must respect the sanitary and safety measures put in place by the competent authorities.

Important!

Applications may be submitted until 16 May 2022. The application assessments will start on 1 March and on 16 May (“cut-off dates”). The EYF aims to communicate the outcome of the application within 6 to 8 weeks after these cut-off days.

Youth organisations can submit applications only if they are registered with the EYF.
