Back No. 193/2020 Union Syndicale Solidaires SDIS v. France

The complaint was registered on 13 March 2020. It concerns Article 7 (the right of children and young persons to protection) of the Revised European Social Charter. The complainant trade union alleges that although Article L 723-1 of the Code de la Sécurité Intérieure recognises "the dangerous nature of the profession and the tasks carried out by firefighters", no measures have been taken by the French authorities to protect minor volunteer firefighters, in breach of the above-mentioned provision of the Charter.

The European Committee of Social Rights declared the complaint admissible on 27 January 2021 and decided that it was not necessary to indicate to the Government any immediate measures.
