The European Committee of Social Rights held an exchange of views with the President of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), Koen Lenaerts, on 20 October 2016, on issues of mutual interest, in particular recent developments in the case law of the two bodies. The exchange followed on to previous meetings between the Committee and CJEU, most recently in 2014 in Luxembourg and in 2010 in Strasbourg.

The privileged relationship between the Committee and the CJEU may be seen in the context of the Turin Process, one of the objectives of which is to strengthen synergy and harmony between the Charter and the European Union legal order.
