The Bureau of the European Committee of Social Rights meets via video conference

The European Committee of Social Rights pursues its work despite isolation, social distancing and travel restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. The Bureau of the Committee met via video conference on Wednesday 8 April 2020 to discuss pending issues and how to organise the Committee’s work in the coming weeks. In particular, the Bureau discussed the status of pending collective complaints and the drafting of Conclusions 2020 on employment, training and equal opportunities under the reporting procedure related to articles 1, 9, 10, 15, 18, 20, 24 and 25 of the Charter. Moreover, the Bureau examined the draft list of questions to be transmitted to States Parties for Conclusions 2021 related to thematic group “Health, social security and social protection”. The Bureau expects that the European Committee of Social Rights will be able to examine some aspects of response of States Parties to the Covid-19 outbreak and its management in the framework of Conclusions 2021.
