Suspension of deadlines under the collective complaints procedure

In view of the development of the situation with respect to COVID-19 and at the request of States Parties to the collective complaints procedure, the President of the European Committee of Social Rights has decided as follows:

In the context of the current unprecedented health crisis and due to the lockdown measures adopted by most European Governments, all extant deadlines fixed for the respondent States and complainant organisations in the pending collective complaints are suspended as of today (25 March) and until 15 May 2020. The Committee reserves the possibility of extending the suspension period, if the measures taken by the European Governments are not lifted or reduced by 30 April 2020. It is understood that during this suspension period the Committee will continue to examine the pending complaints with a view to preparing decisions and that new complaints can continue to be lodged and registered.

This decision has also been communicated directly to all respondent States and complainant organisations in the pending collective complaints.
