Social rights in the digital age: challenges and opportunities

To mark the 60th anniversary of the European Social Charter, the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the Council of Europe, the Delegation of the European Union to the Council of Europe together with the University of Strasbourg (Research Centre UMR 7354 DRES) and the Council of Europe’s Department of the European Social Charter, are organising a seminar on social rights in the digital age: challenges and opportunities, on Thursday 9 December 2021 (09:00 – 13:30 CET).

This event will bring together academics, experts, representatives of trade unions and employers, as well as of the European Commission. The speakers will exchange views, on two panels, about the challenges the digital age is posing on the exercise of social rights, and the response of international organisations to this phenomenon.

The event will take place in a hybrid format at the Council of Europe (Palais de l'Europe, room 9). French-English interpretation will be provided.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, online participation via KUDO is encouraged. The seminar will also be webcast.

To register a physical presence in Palais de l’Europe or a remote active participation, please address your request to [email protected].
