The Social Rights Department of the Council of Europe, in collaboration with the International Labour Office, are organising a workshop on Tuesday, 28 March 2023 in Strasbourg (Palais de l’Europe, room 8; 09:00-17:30 CET) and by video conference.
The main objective of the workshop is to assist contracting parties with their compliance and reporting obligations under the European Code of Social Security providing an overview of the system of international standards on social security with a focus on the calculation of social security benefits and their replacement rates.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore how to define different parameters used for the calculation of benefits and the required replacement rates, and how to examine the specific requirements as regards the calculation of pensions payable in the event of old age, invalidity and death of the breadwinner. Participants will also have the opportunity of a practical exercise on the model calculations required under the Code and in accordance with the report form taking different formulae into account.
