European Social Charter 60th anniversary and 25 years of Russian membership of the Council of Europe

As part of the events to mark the 60th anniversary of the European Social Charter, a Round table on “European Social Charter – 60th anniversary and 25 years of Russian membership to the Council of Europe” will take place on 29 September 2021 in Moscow, Russian Federation.

The event is organised by the Department of the European Social Charter of the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights of the Russian Federation. It will bring together a number of national and international experts to discuss the European Social Charter, and its implementation in the Russian Federation, the ongoing reform process aimed at improving the implementation of social rights in Europe and reinforcing the European Social Charter system, as well as the role played by the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, National Human Rights Institutions, social partners, civil society and other actors in ensuring legal enforcement of social rights at both domestic and international level.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format. Media representatives will be able to follow the event online upon preliminary request.
