Back No. 200/2021 Associazione Professionale e Sindacale (ANIEF) v. Italy

The complaint was registered on 21 June 2021. It concerns Articles 1§§1 and 2 (the right to work), 15 (right of persons with disabilities to independence, social integration and participation in the life of the community) and E (non-discrimination) in conjunction with each of these provisions of the Revised European Social Charter. ANIEF alleges that the situation of school support for disabled children in Italy is in violation of the above-mentioned provisions of the Charter due to the precarious employment of a large number of support teachers, the lack of the necessary pedagogical specialisation, the systematic turnover of the support teacher every school year and the unavoidable need for families to engage in litigation to obtain the allocation of a support teacher every year.
