Back 5th meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

5th meeting of the European Social Cohesion Platform

The European Social Cohesion Platform (PECS) will meet for the 5th time on 24-25 September 2020 via videoconference. The 5th PECS meeting which was initially planned for April 2020 was postponed due to the Cvid-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, the Platform will discuss and approve the workplan for 2020-2021 based on its renewed Terms of Reference and will identify topics for exchange of good practices and innovative approaches.

It will exchange final views and approve the draft Declaration of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on the risks of computer-assisted or Artificial Intelligence-enabled decision-making in the field of social safety net. The draft outline of the Concept Paper on examination of new trends and challenges to social cohesion particularly in the light of Covid-19 pandemic will be presented and discussed.

The Platform will appoint thematic rapporteurs on gender equality, children’s rights and rights of persons with disabilities, as well as PECS ad-hoc rapporteurs.

Considering the technical specificities of the videoconference meeting, the Platform will decide to hold elections (Chair, Vice-chair and bureau members) or to postpone them until the next meeting.
