Webinar on Cultural Diversity in the Era of Global Pandemic

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of being an Observer to the Council of Europe, the Permanent Observer Mission of Japan organises a webinar entitled 'Societal Inclusion through Acknowledgement of Cultural Diversity - Experiences of Europe and Japan in the Era of Global Pandemic' on 12 March (Friday) from 10 to 12 pm.

The webinar will be separated into three thematic parts and presented by three Japanese scholars and two Council of Europe representatives: (1) Cultural Diversity in Japan, (2) Diversity and Inclusion and (3) Protection of cultural and linguistic rights for ethnic minorities. This seminar aims at sharing views and exchanging experiences between Japan and Europe on the protection of minority rights as well as its implementation in the context of governance.

The Head of the Council of Europe Division of National Minorities and Minority Languages will present the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages and the Framework for the Protection of National Minorities.
