The European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement expresses its solidarity and support to the Croatian authorities and the persons affected by the strong earthquake that struck the Croatian capital Zagreb today, bringing much of the population onto the streets as social distancing regulations to prevent the spread of coronavirus had been put in place. The 5.3-magnitude quake, which was felt across the Western Balkans, is the largest to affect the city in 140 years.
The EUR-OPA Agreement stands ready to provide assistance in the post-crisis management through the expertise available within the co-operation network of its Member States and Specialised Centres.
