And the winners are...

The 23rd edition of the Etoiles et Toiles du Cinéma Européen event ended last night in Strasbourg after two weeks of screenings at the UGC Cine Cité cinema of a remarkable selection of 10
co-productions supported by the Eurimages Fund.

At the closing ceremony the jury, composed of diplomats and senior Council of Europe officials, awarded the following honorary prizes:

- the Odyssée - Council of Europe Award for Human Rights for HOLY SPIDER (DK, DE, SE, FR) by
Ali Abbasi;

This film masterfully evokes the Council of Europe's founding values with perfect intensity, while demonstrating the topicality, necessity and complexity of their implementation.

- the Odyssée-Council of Europe Award for Artistic Creation for AS BESTAS (ES, FR) by
Rodrigo Sorogoyen

This film skilfully builds a world whose protagonists struggle with contradictory and extremely current issues.

Finally, the jury decided to award a Special Mention to Joachim Trier's co-production THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD which brings together Norway, France, Sweden and Denmark.

This film follows with tenderness and originality the journey of a young woman who encompasses the expectations, worries, and contradictions of contemporary youth.
