New step towards digitalised processing of electoral complaints

In co-operation with the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova (CEC), the Council of Europe, has started a work on the development of the Terms of Reference for the module "Electoral Complaints" of the State Automated Informational System "Elections".

The development of the Terms of Reference for this new module represents the first step in the further enhancement of the electronic module.

Once developed, the module will enhance the CEC's operational capacity to resolve electoral disputes in a transparent, automated and more innovative way. It will also allow both the petitioner and general public, to follow the process of examining electoral complaints online.

The Terms of Reference will be drawn up based on the legal provisions of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the analysis and recommendations carried out in 2021 by the Council of Europe consultants concerning electoral complaints and in line with best electoral practices.

This activity is being funded and implemented by the Council of Europe Project Improving Electoral Practice in the Republic of Moldova, Phase II.
