Georgian Election officials successfully completed the training on electoral cycle management - planning, reporting, monitoring & evaluation

On 1-2 June 2022, election officials from the Central Election Commission of Georgia and District Election Commissions have successfully completed a two-day training on electoral cycle management - planning, reporting, monitoring & evaluation.

Mr Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairperson at the Central Election Commission, Mr Giorgi Sioridze, Deputy Chairperson appointed by opposition parties, and Mr Franck Daeschler, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Elections and Participatory Democracy Division, delivered opening remarks – highlighting importance of effective planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation to secure transparency of electoral processes.

At the training, participants focused on the following elements of the strategic planning: SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities et Threats) and GAP analysis, building a logical framework for the years 2023-2025, checking the intervention logic and drawing up risks and assumptions for logical framework, SMART indicators (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound). During the groups sessions participants worked on five strategic directions of the election administration. Election officials also deepened their knowledge on reporting standards.


The training was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project "Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia".
