The first phase of preparation of the DCE Planner, a multi-purpose tool to support member states in incorporating Digital Citizenship Education in their education systems, comes to an end. In line with the findings of a preparatory study, the preparation consists of several phases including the drafting of age-appropriate learning outcomes in close collaboration with DCE promoters and other education professionals (e.g., curriculum developers, programme designers) for 4 different age groups:
- Age group I (5-7 years old)
- Age group II (8-11 years old)
- Age group III (12-15 years old)
- Age group IV (16-18 years old).
All groups met throughout May and June 2024.
Experts from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye and Ukraine participated in the workshops and are expected to collaborate in the next weeks (until the end of September) to pilot and validate the learning outcomes.
The DCE Planner will be a repository of:
- Questions, highlighting key discussion points in the different domains of digital citizenship
- Short learning activities for integration into various classroom subjects
- Suggestions for longer projects for implementation in a range of educational settings and in a whole-school approach
- Online courses
- Information, awareness-raising and educational resources.
Follow the work of the Digital transformation unit to be informed about next steps and the development of the DCE Planner.
