Visit of the Data Protection Commissioner

The Council of Europe Data Protection Commissioner, Jean-Philippe Walter, is in charge of overseeing that data protection rules are respected for all personal data processed by the Council of Europe.

Among the main topics of his 3rd visit since his election, in June 2018, is the need for up-dating the internal regulation on data protection, notably in the light of Convention 108+. He will also address the importance for the Organisation to put in place a Data Protection Officer. He will meet concerned staff and services on 19 and 20 December and will meet the Deputy Secretary General, Ms Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni.
