Privacy Policy in The Gambia

In order to draft the national privacy and data protection policy in line with international standards, The Gambia has requested the Council of Europe’s support in the organisation of a workshop and the delivery of the draft national privacy and data protection policy. Carried out under the “Cybercrime Octopus Project” a stakeholders’ consultation was organised on 6 May 2019 to launch the 5 days’ drafting workshop. Ebrima Sillah, Minister for Information & Communication Infrastructure opened the event.

Assisted by two experts, Ms Patricia Poku, Executive Director of the Ghanaian Data Protection Commission and Pat Walshe, Director of Privacy Matters, the Data Protection Unit is providing its support for a meaningful exchange of views and the development of a comprehensive draft privacy and data protection policy.
