The French Forum on the Internet Governance (French IGF) was held on 5 July 2018 in Paris with the participation of high level stakeholders. Discussions have been organised around 4 big topics: Taking back the control, Digital Humanity, Cyber politics/Politics on cyberspace, Ethical and societal responsibilities. The Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe has been invited under the topic “Taking back the control” to present how the recently revised Convention 108+ can contribute to the reinforced protection of individual’s privacy and personal data worldwide while promoting the free flow of data between Parties.
