Back Cybercrime@EaP 2018: Workshop on cooperation between CSIRTs and law enforcement held at KPI in Kyiv

Held on request of project country team of Ukraine and in collaboration with Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), the Cybercrime Programme Office is organizing a two-day Workshop on Law Enforcement and CSIRT/CERT Cooperation on Cybercrime on 24-25 September in the framework of the PGG 2018: Cybercrime@EaP project.

The Workshop aims to strengthen the understanding of the need to exchange information between different professional communities of cybersecurity experts and the law enforcement, and to encourage the use of common approaches and methods for processing electronic evidence in both cybersecurity incident handling and criminal investigations on the basis of internationally accepted standards, such as the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime.

Throughout two day, the experts from Estonia, Georgia and “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” are covering the topics of regulatory framework for cybersecurity and cybercrime, cyber incident handling frameworks and best practices, open-source intelligence and threat analysis, sources of information, joint operations with the law enforcement, penetration testing and live data forensics.

The Workshop is also a first case for the project in terms of direct cooperation with academic institution in Ukraine, with KPI providing the venue and technical support for the event.
