Back UNICC Common Secure Conference 2022

From 3rd to 7th  October 2022, the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) organised the 4th Annual Common Secure Conference and the 5th Annual UNDP Cybersecurity for Developing Nations Conference in Valencia, Spain. The Conference included the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) Technical Colloquium.

The conference this year witnessed attendees from nearly 40 UN organizations, keynote speakers and guests from CERTs, academic institutions and top technology companies to share cybersecurity issues, opportunities and solutions, including cybersecurity threats impacting the UN system and the measures they take to mitigate these threats.

Participants shared insights on the ways to implement zero trust, on the future of the cloud and its impact on cybersecurity, UN Privileges and Immunities in the cloud, vulnerability management, threat hunting, security automation, IOT security and DevSecOps. Participating national and international CERTs shared cyber threat experience as well as recommendations for tools and techniques they leverage to respond to cybersecurity incidents. On the other hand, they were delivered with Security Incident Response Training (based on the FIRST curriculum), Capture the Flag (CTF) and Tabletop exercises.

The iPROCEEDS-2 project supported the participation of the Macedonian National Centre for Computer Incident Response MKD-CIRT. Cybersecurity community – national and sectoral CERTs/CIRTs – are one of the main counterpart institutions of the project.
