GLACY+: Paraguay focuses on streamlining cybercrime and electronic evidence in the curricula of judicial training institutions

Between 7 and 8 September, 34 Paraguayan magistrates and representatives of the judicial training institutions met online for an advisory workshop on the development of judicial training strategies on cybercrime and electronic evidence.

The meeting aimed at assessing the current state of judicial training on cybercrime and electronic evidence and agreeing on a judicial training programme on cybercrime and electronic evidence for judges and prosecutors, as part of the national training strategy. The workshop was followed up by a debriefing session held on 14 September 2021 for identifying the way forward for integration of cybercrime and electronic evidence topics into the training curricula of judges and prosecutors from Paraguay.

The main counterpart in the organisation of workshop was the Paraguayan Prosecutor’s Office and future activities for mainstreaming the judicial training on cybercrime are envisaged to kick off before end of 2021.

Paraguay has acceded the Budapest Convention in 2017 and has been ever since a priority country for the GLACY+ Project.
