CyberSouth: Basic judicial training course on cybercrime and electronic evidence in Morocco

Within the framework of the joint project of the European Union and Council of Europe – CyberSouth, a basic judicial training was delivered to 20 magistrates from Morocco from 14-17 May 2018. The objective of this activity was to improve the knowledge of the magistrates to handle electronic evidence and cybercrime investigations/prosecutions.

Organised in collaboration with the Superior Institute for Magistrates of Morocco, the introductory training module touched upon legislative aspects of cybercrime, and provided the participants (judges and prosecutors) with the information about how to deal with electronic evidence, instruments for cybercrime investigations/prosecutions and the channels and instruments for international cooperation.

This event is part of a wider strategy of the Ministry of Justice in Morocco to benefit from CyberSouth Project’s support in order to build a pool of magistrates, which will be gaining expertise in the field of cybercrime and electronic evidence, and will be used as resource and for the training of other magistrates.
