CyberSouth: Advisory mission on the establishment of the 24/7 contact point in Tunisia

The advisory mission on the establishment of the 24/7 contact point in Tunisia was held at the “Ecole des Officiers” at Salambo, on 27 August 2018 at the request of Tunisian authorities. The aim of the meeting was to explain the role of the 24/7 contact point in the sense of Article 35 of the Budapest Convention and provide with the necessary information in order assist Tunisian authorities in their decision-making process as to where such contact point should be hosted. Representatives from Ministry of interior, Ministry of Communication Technologies, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as representatives from 24/7 contact point from France and Romania participated in the meeting. Discussions were focused on the role of the 24/7 contact point, the setup, resources and procedures as well as capabilities. The meeting concluded by sharing recommendations of the T-CY assessment report on mutual legal assistance provisions of the Budapest Convention as well feedback from the 24/7 network meeting in 2017.
