The joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, CyberSouth+, together with the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organizations (AICTO) of the League of Arab States organised a four-day training exercise on ransomware attacks for the benefit of law enforcement agencies in Algeria, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Palestine* and Tunisia.
Based on the assessment of current cyber threats in the region, AICTO and CyberSouth+ are co-ordinating their support to Arab countries to strengthen the criminal justice response to cybercrime, including on more complex forms of ransomware and related offences.
Similar in-country training will be proposed to the project partners during the upcoming steering committee meeting of the CyberSouth+ project which is to be held in December 2024.
