Evaluation reports of the certification cycle 2020-2021 and 2019-2020 now available online

Each year, in order to analyse the applications for certification and the regular 3-year evaluation of certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, independent experts are contracted to evaluate the information submitted.

The evaluation reports of the certification cycle 2020-2021 as well as the previous certification cycle 2019-2020 are now available online.

These independent reports are important supporting documents that helped the EPA Governing Board decide on the award or renewal of the "Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" certification.

In the framework of the 2020-2021 certification cycle, the Governing Board of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) decided to renew the certification of 3 Cultural Routes undergoing regular evaluation: European Mozart Ways, European Route of Megalithic Culture and Huguenot and Waldensian Trail. The certification “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” was also awarded to five new Routes, bringing the programme to 45 certified Cultural Routes: Aeneas Route; Alvar Aalto Route – 20th Century Architecture and Design; Cyril and Methodius Route; The European Route d’Artagnan and Iron Age Danube Route.

In the framework of the 2019-2020 certification cycle, 8 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe were subject to regular evaluation: Santiago de Compostela Pilgrim Routes; The Hansa; Via Francigena; Routes of El legado andalusí; Pyrenean Iron Route; Iter Vitis Route; European Route of Ceramics and Fortified Towns of the Grande Region. The certification “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” was also awarded to two new Routes: European Route of Historic Gardens and Via Romea Germanica.
