Back EICR Board of Directors holds its Annual General Assembly in Luxembourg

On 13 February, the Board of Directors of the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR) held its Annual General Assembly and Board Meeting meeting at the Cultural Centre of Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg.

Mr. Christian BIEVER, EICR President, Mrs. Danièle KOHN-STOFFELS, Government advisor for the Ministry of Culture of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Levan KHARATISHVILI, Vice-Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Georgia and Vice-Chair of the Governing Board of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA), Mr. Eladio FERNÁNDEZ-GALIANO, Special advisor for the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme and Mr. Robert PHILIPPART, Unesco Site Manager, Ministry of Culture of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, attended the meeting. Stefano DOMINIONI, Director, represented the Secretariat of the European Institute of Cultural Routes.

Among the topics discussed, Board members presented the report of the activities carried out by the EICR in 2019 and the Cultural Routes Certification Cycle 2019-2020, and discussed the 2020 activity calendar. The General Assembly approved the 2019 certified accounts of the EICR. The Ministry of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg decided a +20% EICR budget increase for 2020.

The European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR) is the technical agency of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme set up in 1998 as part of a political agreement between the Council of Europe and the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (Ministry of Culture). It assists the EPA on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in the evaluation cycles of certified Cultural Routes and candidate networks to the "Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" certification.
