The European Union External Service (EEAS) promotes the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in China

On Saturday 17 August, an exhibition showcasing the 38 Cultural Routes certified by the Council of Europe opened at Changchun Library, in Changchun (Jilin Province), People’s Republic of China.

Titled “An Encounter on a Journey across Time and Space – Cultural Routes of Europe Exhibition”, the exhibition lasted a week and it will visit three Chinese cities rich on cultural heritage and related to the concept of “route”: Changchun, along the “Chinese Eastern Railway”, Xi’an, starting point of the Ancient Silk Road, and Beijing, China’s capital and destination of the Chinese Grand Canal.

The event is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to China and it aims to promote cross-cultural exchange and sustainable tourism between China and Europe by sharing the beauty of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the values of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme.

The next stages of the exhibition will take place from 21 to 29 December 2019 in Xi’an, and from 11 to 19 January 2020 in Beijing.
