Description
The Abbey of Villelongue is a former Cistercian monastery founded in 1180. The abbey and all of its land were dispersed and sold as national property in 1791 (https://www.cister.net/abbayes/fr/134/villelongue). Today the site is divided into two parts: the abbey open to visitors, and the private residences.
Association of the Friends of Villelongue Abbey (est. 1985) contributes to the works of preservation and the promotion of the Villelongue Abbey.
