The training seminar for 26 high ranking police officers (commissioners and sub-commissioners) has succeeded in developing and improving further relations, engagement and awareness on police in dealing with citizens and communities in their daily work. The two Council of Europe experts shared advices about the implementation of the ‘’Community policing’’ on the basis of European standards and previous experiences in other European countries.

The training was also a forum for exchange of experience between experts and trainees on community policing, whether they are directly involved in community policing or responsible for public order. For those responsible in public order it helped raise awareness about the importance of having a preparatory meeting with organisers of the manifestation to evaluate the risks and achieve the best possible management the event.

A case study analysis led them to apply the newly acquired knowledge by reflecting on their practice and the challenges of community policing and practical ideas on their improvement.

This activity has been organised within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Albanian Police and the Council of Europe.
