In continuation of the capacity building support for the introduction and implementation of reintegration programs in Montenegrin prisons,  Council of Europe (CoE) consultants conducted an expert mission in Podgorica, Montenegro on 7-8 February. The consultants accompanied by CoE staff, held consultations with all relevant stakeholders in order to discuss the contribution of the reintegration programs carried by local NGOs in 2017, as well as screen the available rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for prisoners with focus on drug addicts.  The findings of the expert mission will serve as the basis for the implementation of additional reintegration programs undertaken by local NGOs within 2018.

In addition, CoE consultants screened the capacities of the staff in the Treatment Department with emphasis on the training needs, in order to propose a series of training sessions that will be carried out by the Action in 2018.

The Action, that is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe, started on 1 October 2016 and will finish in January 2019, with overall budget of 750.000 €.
